Shannon Spencer

Radiation Therapist

Shannon has been in radiation therapy for over 20 years and has been working with Dr. Schewe since 2000.

She received her Associate of Science in radiation therapy from Foothill College in Los Altos Hills, California, and her Bachelor of Science in health sciences and kinesiology from California State University, East Bay in Hayward, California.

As a radiation therapist, Shannon is responsible for the actual delivery of treatment, implementing the doctor’s plan. She makes the patient as comfortable as possible (physically, mentally, and emotionally) and makes sure the treatment is delivered accurately.

Shannon’s favorite part of her job is getting to know the patients. Because she sees them every day, she develops relationships with them and learns about their lives, their children, pets, and hobbies. She laughs, cries, and hugs with them, and hopes they leave feeling safe and well cared for.
Shannon spends most of her spare time driving to, or watching, her kids at their numerous activities. She loves sports, reading, movies, traveling, hiking, and camping. She is a beach girl at heart, but has learned to love the mountains after living in Colorado for the last 17 years.
